BEAUTY QUEEN SUED OVER BOOB JOB
A beauty queen sacked after she made controversial remarks about gay marriage has been sued by pageant organisers for the cost of her boob job.
Miss California Carrie Prejean, 22, was plunged into controversy during the Miss USA finals in April, when in answer to a question she said she believed marriage should be between a man and a woman.
Pageant owner Donald Trump defended her right to speak her mind and she retained her second place title in the contest.
But in June she was fired as Miss California for breach of contract for being too controversial, including making an advert for the National Organisation of Marriage and making appearances without pageant officials' approval.
She sued K2 Productions, which organises Miss California, co-director Keith Lewis, actress and former beauty queen Shanna Moakler, who resigned as a K2 co-director amid the controversy, and publicist Roger Neal.
Her suit alleged slander, libel, religious discrimination, public disclosure of private facts and infliction of emotional distress.
Now K2 has hit back, demanding she returns the $5,200 the company paid for breast augmentation, citing the bible in its countersuit.
“Had she heeded the guidance of the Gospel of John, who admonished only those who are without sin to cast stones in judgement, she might have avoided this legal battle,” the suit says.
It also seeks to dismiss the “private facts” element of her suit, saying they relate to her new boobs, which are public knowledge.
The suit goes on: “The alleged 'private facts' consist of her breast augmentation (which ceased being private during the swimsuit competition of the nationally-televised Miss USA pageant, in which Ms Prejean walked the stage in a bikini).”
Lewis said in a statement: “We are saddened by the necessity to file a counter-claim today against Carrie Prejean.
“Our claim is not about financial reward, and all profits awarded will be donated to a charity that promotes the values of our organisation.”
