BOY FOR NICOLE RICHIE

Nicole Richie and her rocker boyfriend Joel Madden have welcomed their second child, a boy named Sparrow.
He joins big sister Harlow, who is 20 months old.
“In the middle of night, the very early hours of September 9, 2009, Sparrow James Midnight Madden was born to Nicole Richie and Joel Madden,” they wrote on her Web site.
“He weighs 7 lbs 14 oz. Nicole, Joel, Harlow and Sparrow are all doing well. Thank you for all your good wishes.”
Us magazine called on name and numerology experts to comment on the baby's name and birth date.
Name expert Pamela Redmond Satran said: “Bird names are definitely getting hotter. Of all the animal names, bird names are the hottest.
“It's an interesting choice for a son because you really can't tell if it's a boy or a girl.
“Something we've started to see is parents being much more open to giving their sons names that have a feminine feel or are unisex.”
She pointed out that like Harlow, whose middle name is Kate, his middle name is conventional “in case they want to go by that later in life.”
Numerologist Tania Gabrielle said the birth date of 9/9/09 is extremely rare.
She said nine is the number of life and signifies endings and beginnings.
It also signifies “love, compassion and family,” but she noted it is also associated with arrogance and self-righteousness.
“Sparrow will likely be highly creative,” she said. “He could also be a leader. The child will have a lot of gifts.”
Former reality television star Richie, 27, has led a more low-key lifestyle since become a mother, concentrating on her A Pea In the Pod maternity collection and her House of Harlow 1960 jewellery line.
She and Good Charlotte rocker Madden, 31, also run the Richie Madden Children's Foundation, which they launched in 2007 to provide help for low-income families.
Madden told People magazine last month: “We're very, very blessed. We've already had one healthy kid and that's all you can ask for as a parent – healthy kids.”
Richie and Madden, who have been together since 2006, have no plans to marry.
