BRITTANY MURPHY LEFT ESTATE TO MUM

By Liz Hodgson - Posted on 24 December 2009

Actress Brittany Murphy made a will leaving everything to her mother before she met her husband, Simon Monjack.
There is no indication that she amended it to include him after their May 2007 marriage, according to celebrity site TMZ.
Murphy was very close to her mother, Sharon, who lived with her and British screenwriter Monjack in Hollywood, and friends say thy are not surprised.
“Brittany's mother was very involved in her life,” a source told columnist Ted Casablanca. “She really pushed Brittany into the entertainment industry.
“I bet changing her will didn't even cross he mind. Sharon was the closest person in Brittany's life and her mom made sure it was always that way. It seemed like they both relied on each other.”
Murphy died unexpectedly at her Hollywood Hills home on Sunday, aged 32. An autopsy has been carried out but the results will not be known for several weeks, when toxicology reports are completed.
The house was owned in the name of a trust set up before she met Monjack, and his name is reportedly not on the deeds.
Murphy had finished work on three films when she died and was due to start shooting a romantic comedy, Shrinking Charlotte.
That film has now been put on hold until her role is recast, according to producer Darren VanCleave.
