CARRADINE'S STAR-STUDDED SEND-OFF

Kung Fu and Kill Bill actor David Carradine got a star-studded send off at the weekend.
Celebrities turned out in force to say farewell to the 72-year-old star, who was found naked hanging in the wardrobe of his luxury Bangkok hotel with a rope wrapped round his neck, hands and genitals in early June, on Saturday.
Among the hundreds of guests who turned up for the private service which lasted a lengthy more than two hours were Daryl Hannah, Michael Madsen and Lucy Liu, who co-starred with the actor in director Quentin Tarrantine's two-part Kill Bill movies.
Deuce Bigalow star Rob Schneider, who appeared in Kill Bill Vol. 2, arrived, clutching a basket of flowers.
Also there were British actress Jane Seymour, Tom Selleck, Edward James Olmos, Ali Larter, and James Cromwell.
Some of the 400 mourners opted to wear party Western-style costumes, including cowboy boots and hats and turquoise jewellery, to attended the funeral which took place under mostly gloomy skies with a cold wind blowing over the sprawling hillside cemetery in Los Angeles.
Carradine's actor brother Keith, who starred in the 1977 historical drama The Duellists, wore a bolo tie.
Thai authorities continue to investigate the death of the actor, who it has now emerged was heavily into bondage and bizarre sex acts.
A statement released by a private pathologist, who carried out a second post mortem on Carradine, said on Thursday that suicide had been ruled out as a cause of death.
Carradine's family has asked for privacy and patience as they grieve and authorities investigate.
Despite his career being resurrected thanks to his title role in the Kill Bill flicks, Carradine is arguably best known for playing wandering martial arts expert Kwai Chang Caine in the 1970s hit TV series Kung Fu.
Among his numerous other movies were the cult hit Death Race 2000 and director Ingmar Bergman's 1977 The Serpent's Egg.
