DANIEL CRAIG WANTS PROTECTION
James Bond star Daniel Craig is said to have demanded extra security while he is rehearsing for his Broadway debut.
He has asked for round-the-clock minders while he prepares for A Steady Rain, according to the New York Post.
Co-star Hugh Jackman, on the other hand, has not asked for any protection.
A production source said: “Everybody thinks it's funny because the truth is, Daniel rarely gets approached by the public in the street and at restaurants – especially now that he has the huge handlebar moustache for this role.”
Another Broadway source added: “Security and secrecy around the show are so tight that Jackman and Craig are rehearsing at a secret location outside the city.
In the play, which starts previews next week and opens on September 29, Craig, 41, and Jackman, 40, play Chicago cops whose lifelong friendship is challenged when they become involved in a domestic dispute.
Craig, who has rented a top-security flat for $38,000 a month for his stay in New York, will once again play James Bond in the 23rd film of the series, due for release in 2011.
Jackman will play Wolverine for a fifth time in the next X-Men film, also due out in 2011.
