IRISH A-LIST IN FILM LINE-UP

An A-list of Irish actors are ready to roll with a film version of Flann O'Brian's 1939 novel At Swim-Two-Birds.
Brendan Gleeson has spent six years working on the script and will make his debut as a director with the film.
And Colin Farrell, Cillian Murphy, Gabriel Byrne and Jonathan Rhys Meyers have signed on to star, according to American reports.
The story of a 19-year-old creating a world of fantasy characters who take on lives of their own, At Swim-Two-Birds was an instant classic and won praise from James Joyce, Dylan Thomas and Anthony Burgess.
All the actors have worked with Gleeson, 54, before.
He starred with Farrell, 33, in last year's In Bruges, with Rhys Meyers, 32, in 1996's Michael Collins and with Byrne, 59, in 1992 in Into the West.
He has teamed up five times with Cillian Murphy, 33, in The Tale of Sweety Barrett in 1998, 28 Days Later in 2002, Cold Mountain in 2003, Breakfast on Pluto in 2005 and Perrier's Bounty, which opens later this month at the Toronto International Film Festival.
