JOSE FELICIANO SLAMS RACIST SPOOF
A web site has apologised to singer Jose Feliciano after using his classic Christmas song Feliz Navidad for a racist musical spoof.
Radio producers Matt Fox and AJ Rice made The Illegal Alien Christmas Song and posted it on a conservative web site.
Puerto Rico-born Felicianio, 64, said he was “revolted beyond words” and called the spoof “a political platform of racism and hate.”
He said: “When I wrote and composed Feliz Navidad I chose to sing in both English and Spanish in order to create a bridge between two wonderful cultures during the time of year in which we hope for goodwill toward all.”
Jed Babbin, editor of the web site, said he would remove the song.
“We regret any offence that Mr Feliciano may have taken from this parody,” he said.
