KATHERINE HEIGL TAKES BREAK FROM GREY'S ANATOMY

Actress Katherine Heigl is being written out of five episodes of Grey's Anatomy to give her time to make a film.
Heigl, 30, whose character Izzie Stevens appeared to have died of a brain tumour at the end of the last season, has already filmed six episodes of the new season and will appear in shows until the end of November.
During her break she will shoot the romantic comedy Life As We Know it, with Josh Duhamel.
She will probably be away at the same time as Ellen Pompeo, who is expecting her first baby next month, takes her maternity leave.
“The exact schedule is still in the works,” a source told Us magazine. “These plans have been in the works for a while.
“The producers, as they always have, do their best to accommodate people's schedules, including Katherine's movie schedule, a film schedule for Patrick Dempsey and Ellen's maternity leave.
“Ellen will have as much time as she needs and wants as a new mom, and the chances of her leave overlapping with Katherine's is highly likely.
“This is how Grey's works. It's a true ensemble. The show will be firing on all cylinders while at the same time accommodating the actors' needs.”
Earlier this year the show's creator Shonda Rhimes said producers are looking at ways to keep the series going while losing core cast members.
She told Entertainment Weekly: “Eventually, everybody is going to leave the show. So we're looking at ways we can mess with that structure now.
“Season six is about finding the longevity of the show and figuring out if there is a future for this show beyond these characters.”
TR Knight announced he was leaving the show in July, and actors Nora Zehetner, Robert Baker and Jesse Williams are joining the cast this season.
