LIAM NEESON NOT GOING TO FILM FESTIVAL
Actor Liam Neeson has decided not to attend the Toronto International film festival, which would have been his first major public event since the death of his wife, Natasha Richardson.
Organisers had hoped he would walk the red carpet to promote Chloe, the film he was shooting in Toronto when she died after a skiing accident in March, aged 45.
But a publicist for the film, Charlene Coy told the Toronto Star: “I'm 110 per cent sure he is not attending the festival. They didn't give us a reason.”
Neeson's publicist, Alan Neirob, he is not staying away to avoid questions over his wife, who died after a skiing accident near Montreal.
He said the Gangs of New York star, 57, is to busy filming the big-screen version of The A Team in which he plays Colonel John “Hannibal” Smith, in Vancouver.
“He really likes Chloe and if he could've been there, he would've,” he said.
In Chloe, directed by Atom Egoyam, he plays a man whose doctor wife, played by Julianne Moore, suspects him of cheating and hires an escort, played by Amanda Seyfried, to tempt him and report back to her.
It has its world premiere at the festival on September 13,
