MARILYN MANSON SETTLES LAWSUIT
Shock-rocker Marilyn Manson has settled a multi-million dollar lawsuit brought by a former bandmate.
Keyboardist Stephen Bier, 45, sued Manson for $20 million two years ago, claiming the flamboyant performer had cheated him out of money and spent it on his lavish lifestyle and buying Nazi memorabilia.
He also claimed the money went to buying an engagement ring for burlesque star Dita Van Teese, and paying for their elaborate Irish wedding in 2005.
Manson, 40, denied Bier's claims and counter-sued, claiming he had breached his contract by not performing properly and turning up late.
The case was due to go to trial this month.
Manson's lawyer, Howard King, declared victory after an agreement to pay Bier, who goes by the stage name Madonna Wayne Gacy, $380,000.
He said Manson will not have to pay a penny himself, with $175,000 coming from his insurance company and the rest from Bier's former business managers.
