SARAH JESSICA PARKER'S TWINS ARRIVE

Sarah Jessica Parker and her husband Matthew Parker have welcomed twin girls, born to a surrogate mother.
The Sex and the City star and her actor spouse spent Monday at East Ohio Regional Hospital in Martins Ferry, where the surrogate gave birth a 3.58 pm.
A representative for the couple said they were “delighted to announce the healthy arrival of their two daughters.”
He said in a statement: “Marion Loretta Elwell Broderick weighed 5 lbs 11 oz and Tabitha Hodge Broderick weighed 6 lbs,” a spokesman for the couple said in a statement. “Both Hodge and Elwell are family names of Parker's side.
“The babies are doing beautifully and the entire family is over the moon.”
The births had their share of drama.
According to showbusiness site TMZ there were breaks in the water mains at the weekend, leaving much of the small town without drinking water and the hospital had to boil water.
Parker, 44, and Broderick, 47, who have a six-year-old son, James Wilkie, announced the news of their twins in April
“The entire family is overjoyed,” they said at the time.
Parker's Sex and the City co-star Kim Cattrall was quick to share their happiness.
“I'm thrilled for Sarah, Matthew and James Wilkie,” she told People magazine. “More 'fabulous girls' are joining our SATC family.”
Another co-star, Mario Cantone, said fashion icon Parker had always dreamed of having daughters.
“She has definitely wanted to have a girl,” he said. “She's going to have so much fun bringing the two girls up and teaching them to be young ladies.”
Security was heightened at the hospital.
The births come as two local police chiefs, Barry Carpenter of Martins Ferry and Chad DoJack of nearby Bridgeport, are being investigated for allegedly conspiring to break into the surrogate's house to steal material to sell to magazine, reportedly including pictures of a plaster of paris mould of her pregnant stomach.
