Teen country sensation Taylor Swift has shocked her fans by being photographed with a boy wearing a swastika tee-shirt.
The squeaky-clean 19-year old was at Katy Perry's 25th birthday in Hollywood when she was snapped arm-in-arm with the guest.
Partygoers at the Willy Wonka-themed bash were told to wear all white and had their clothes decorated with neon paint.
It was posted on the Internet by someone claiming to be the boy – and to be Taylor's new boyfriend.
“Taylor and I are officially dating,” the poster wrote.
According to celebrity site TMZ the pictures sparked rumours that the letters JH painted on Taylor's shirt stood for “Jew Hater” but speculated they were actress Julianne Hough's initials, because her outfit was emblazoned with TS.
Taylor's told TMZ: “Taylor took pictures with about 100 people that night – she doesn't know who this guy is and she didn't realise what was on his shirt.”
The boy in the picture, AJ English, told TMZ he had never met Taylor before the party and said she probably did not see the symbol when she posed with him.
He said the design started out as a X but was “perverted” during the course of the party, and that he is not a racist or a Nazi.
