VANESSA HUDGENS SUES OVER NUDE PICS
High School Musical star Vanessa Hudgens is suing a celebrity gossip web site which posted nude pictures of her.
The 21-year-old actress claims in her federal suit the site moejackson.com posted the pictures illegally and is seeking an injunction to order it to remove them.
She is also seeking unspecified damages and has registered the pictures, taken on a mobile phone and described as “self-portrait photographs,” with the US copyright office.
“The pictures were obtained by unknown methods and posted on the Internet by an unknown person without Hudgens' knowledge or consent,” the suit, filed in Los Angeles, says.
It does not specify that the pictures are nude.
The photos first appeared in the summer of 2007, and the Disney star apologised to her fans, sayings she was “embarrassed over the situation.”
Four months ago a new set of topless pictures of Hudgens were posted on the site.
During this year's Teen Choice awards comedian Dane Cook joked about the pictures when the cameras focussed on her.
“Girl, you got to keep your clothes on,” he said. “Phones are for phone calls.”
According to the New York Post the pictures were taken down on Christmas Eve.
